TMC chief Abhishek Banerjee claims the Income Tax Department raided a helicopter

A TMC representative claimed that when a group of IT department officials raided the airfield and searched the helicopter, it was being held at the Behala Flying Club airfield on the southern outskirts of Kolkata.Abhishek Banerjee, national general secretary of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), claimed on Sunday that an Income Tax (IT) department team had searched and raided his helicopter in Kolkata.”Today, @ECISVEEP and @BJP4India decided to send MINIONS FROM IT to search and raid my chopper and security staff instead of dismissing the @NIA_India DG and SP. As a consequence, there were no findings. Bengal’s SPIRIT OF RESISTANCE will never waver, no matter how much power the zamindars wield,” Banerjee said on his X handle on Sunday afternoon.

Since 2014, the TMC has claimed that the BJP is using federal investigative agencies against it for political ends. A top TMC official revealed, under condition of anonymity, that he learned the helicopter was stationed at the Behala Flying Club airstrip on the southern outskirts of Kolkata during an incursion by a group of IT department officials who searched the aircraft.
