Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan took part in World Bank’s Human Capital Ministerial Conclave on arresting human capital losses due to Covid19 and reimagining service delivery in the digital age.
The conclave was held on the virtual mode due to the Covid-19 situation where Ministers and high-level representatives from more than 70 countries and organizations came together for the third Human Capital Project conclave as part of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF) annual meetings.
Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized India’s efforts to leverage technology in order to improve lives and livelihoods and ensure equitable access to education.
Further, he also shared the steps being taken by the Modi Government to make the education ecosystem more inclusive, including internet-based learning and building a National Digital Education Architecture. He also elaborated how Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and digital platforms like Cowin have limited the loss to human capital.
He stated that their multi-pronged strategy involving DIKSHA, PMeVidya, SWAYAM portal, digital library, DTH, radio and so forth ensure uninterrupted access to education. He also said that they are committed to creating a more robust architecture for efficient and equitable delivery of education.
