To protect unvaccinated children from exposure to Covid, the district administration has decided to vaccinate all the students in the age group of 12 to 17 in all the schools of Cuttack and Khordha district. While 54% of schools have vaccinated their students, the administration plans to vaccinate the remaining schoolchildren over next 15 days.

As per official reports, the decision comes in the wake of 303 new Covid cases in Khurda district and 115 cases in Cuttack. The decision was taken after BMC officials held a meeting with authorities at least 60 private and government-run schools.

On the other hand, the Odisha government is closely watching the situation especially the return of people to their various native districts after Rath Yatra celebrations in Puri. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik requested the netizens to take the free precaution doses and urged people to wear masks.
