Financial assistance under the Odisha government’s flagship Subhadra Scheme will be credited to the bank accounts of over 4.57 lakh women by January 18, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced. A total of ₹250 crore will be disbursed in this phase directly to the beneficiaries.
In the upcoming transfer, 4,57,681 women will receive Subhadra funds, including 1,78,398 newly enrolled beneficiaries who will get their first instalment. Additionally, 2,55,265 women who were previously excluded from the first and second instalments will now receive both payments together. The disbursement also covers beneficiaries whose grievances were reviewed and resolved, with 24,018 women added through the grievance redressal process.
Parida, who also heads the Women and Child Development Department, said the beneficiaries include women who have recently attained the age of 21, applicants earlier left out due to verification or application errors, and those affected by technical issues during earlier fund transfers.
With all beneficiary categories combined, the State government will transfer ₹250 crore directly into the accounts of eligible women. Officials stated that the initiative aims to ensure that no deserving beneficiary is denied assistance due to procedural or technical delays.
