Bhagwani Devi, 94, made history by winning gold for India in the 100m sprint at the World Masters Athletics Championship-2022 in Tampere, Finland. By doing so, the athlete demonstrated that age is just a number and that you can achieve anything in your life at any time. The 94-year-old from Haryana won gold by running 100 metres in 24.74 seconds. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar congratulated Haryana’s Bhagwani Devi on Monday.Khattar stated that at the age of 94, she has become a source of inspiration for people all over the world. “Her accomplishment will serve to stimulate young excitement.” According to an official release, “Bhagwani Devi has once again demonstrated that age is not a barrier to achieving anything in life.” According to multiple accounts, she finished the race in a remarkable time of 24.74 seconds, which allowed her earn first position and bring home the country’s top honour. The 94-year-old did not stop there, as she went on to win two more bronze medals in Tampere. These third-place finishes in shot put demonstrate Bhagwani’s diverse skill in the sport.
