In a fight over the quality of the kebabs in Bareilly, a cook was fatally shot.

Two SUV-riding assailants, who were angry over the subpar kebabs, are accused of shooting dead a 52-year-old non-vegetarian restaurant chef outside the Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) headquarters on Wednesday night after being told to pay for the meal they had already eaten, according to police authorities on Thursday.The two men, who were intoxicated, complained to store owner Ankur Sabarwal about the flavour of the kebabs when they arrived at the Priyadarshini Nagar establishment. After a heated argument, the two attacked Sabarwal and left without paying for their meal, according to Rahul Bhati, additional superintendent of police (city).

According to Sabarwal, one of the men shot Naseer Ahmed, one of the cooks, in the temple when he went to collect 120 rupees from them. He died instantly.The attackers fled the scene of the crime in the direction of Nainital Road. According to the ASP, the SUV was located in Kashipur (Uttarakhand) using staff members’ photos of it. As the attackers were driving a car with an Uttarakhand registration number, the police issued an alert and increased their patrols at the two toll booths along the Nainital Road.
