As Indian Prime Minister Modi leads celebrations in New York tomorrow, the UN chief praises India’s yoga.Amina J. Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the UNGA, has expressed excitement about celebrating the International Day of Yoga with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the UN Headquarters North Lawn in New York on June 21.
Earlier, on June 13, Shombi Sharp, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in India, said that this year’s yoga session at the United Nations Secretariat in New York would be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.It will be a “very big deal,” he predicted, adding that after International Yoga Day was established, everyone in the globe quickly realised how important yoga is.”International Yoga Day, which was established in 2015, was very well supported by 175 countries.
