The Odisha government today nominated Yamini Sarangi, an IAS officer from the 2008 batch, as State Project Director for the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS), in a small reorganization of the IAS cadre. Yamini Sarangi, an officer on special duty for the General Administration and Public Grievance (GA & PG) Department, has been named the State Project Director for the OAVS instead of Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, according to a notification released by the department today.
According to the announcement, the position of State Project Director, OAVS is declared to be similar in status and responsibilities to the position of Additional Secretary offered in the State’s IAS cadre. The letter further said that Sarangi was permitted to continue serving as the Additional Secretary to the Government for the Finance Department.
Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, State Project Director for OAVS and an IAS officer from the 2012 batch was further appointed as Additional Secretary to the Government, School & Mass Education Department, according to the announcement. The announcement also announced the appointment of Vedbhushan, an IAS officer from the 2020 batch, as Commissioner of the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation in addition to his duties as Sub-Collector of Dharmagarh and Executive Officer of the NAC in Dharmagarh. According to the announcement, the position of Under Secretary offered in the State’s IAS cadre is determined to be similar in status and responsibilities to the position of Commissioner for the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation.
The notification further stated that OAS (SS) officer Nrusingh Ch Swain, Special Secretary to Government, Finance Department is transferred and posted as Collector & District Magistrate, Boudh.
