River Mahanadi’s first floodwaters for this season entered the Maa Bhattarika temple in Badamba, in the Cuttack district, today.
The idol of Maa Bhattarika, the presiding deity of Badamba, has been moved to the temporary shelter at Ratnagiri hill after flood waters entered the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
All preparations for the worship and other rites of the god in the temporary shelter have been done by the Endowment department and the temple servants.
