After more than 27 years of employment with the Aditya Birla Group, Dr. Santrupt Misra has decided to retire early. Misra held the positions of Group Director of Birla Carbon, Director of Chemicals, and Global Director of Human Resources. As vice president of HR at Hindustan Unilever (HUL), he joined the company in 1996.
According to a Mint article, the conglomerate’s Group Executive President Ashok Ramchandran would assume the position of Director of HR. Prior to joining the company, he served as Vodafone India’s Director of HR till 2015.About a year ago, Misra reminisced about the good old days and claimed that he and Kumar Birla had placed a bet on one other during a Mint interview. They were both risk-takers and quite young. Following his successful term as the group’s HR director and talent scout, Misra was promoted to the position of CEO of the company’s chemicals division.
