Odisha To Modify Rules Regarding Radiographer Service Recruitment

A plan to reorganize the cadre of radiologists in order to improve grassroots healthcare services was accepted by the State Cabinet today. Given the mandate under the updated Indian Public Health Standard (IPHS) guidelines released in 2022 by the Indian government’s Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, the State is dedicated to ensuring that all public health care facilities in the State comply with the IPHS in order to improve the quality of healthcare services available to the State’s residents.

Consequently, in order to comply with the Indian Public Health Standard (IPHS) requirements, the proposal for the reorganization of the Radiographer cadre has been authorized in the manner listed below, with the appropriate approval of the GA & PG Department and the Finance Department. 40 of the 695 base level positions for radiologists will be eliminated in favor of the creation of 479 positions at various levels of the cadre structure, for a total of 1160 positions.

As part of a promotion hierarchy, positions for Assistant Director, Radiation Safety Officer, and Senior Radiographer Level I have been established. One of the requirements listed in rule 9(viii) for direct recruitment is having a valid Registration or Renewal Certificate as of the application submission date.
