Later, the Delhi High Court ordered Kejriwal’s bail to be temporarily suspended while it considered the ED’s appeal. Kejriwal petitioned the Supreme Court on Saturday to overturn the temporary stay.If the court hadn’t halted the lower court’s judgement, the AAP president would have left the Tihar jail on Friday.The agency asserts that the trial court’s ruling was unfair and irrational. It further asserts that it was not given enough time to make its case.
According to the filings, Kejriwal feels deeply wronged by the temporary stay. He argued that the trial court’s ruling was reasonable. It stated that the decision was decided after giving careful thought to the reasons and claims provided by each side.Kejriwal might be discharged until the high court considers ED’s request, the AAP leader’s attorney argued in court on Monday. Kejriwal doesn’t pose a flight danger, he continued.The Supreme Court set June 26 for Kejriwal’s plea hearing on Monday, stating that it would prefer to wait for the high court’s decision to be made.The Delhi High Court’s temporary stay was deemed extraordinary by the court as well.
