BJD Slams BJP Govt In Odisha For Price Rise Of Essential Commodities

Today, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) attacked the recently elected BJP government for the astronomical costs of basic goods, like as food, which are hurting the average person’s wallet. BJD MLA Pramila Mallik, the chief whip of the opposition, and party leader Lekhasri Samantsinghar chastised the BJP government at a press conference for their inability to rein in the escalating costs of vegetables and other food products.

Mallik claimed that just one month after the BJP took power, the cost of necessities surged. The average person’s kitchen is nevertheless impacted by the rising pricing. The main whip for the opposition went on to say that while the cost of Dal rose by Rs 10 per kg, the price of rice jumped by Rs 5. According to her, the cost of edible oil also increased, and the price of potatoes and onions per kilogram reached Rs. 35 and Rs. 45. Certain additional green vegetables now cost up to Rs 100.

Comparably, Samantsinghar, a party colleague of hers, chastised the State government for being silent when food costs are continuously rising. According to her, a BJP minister recently asserted that the State government is powerless to regulate prices. In the interest of the common people, she continued, the double-engine government should act swiftly on the rising prices with the assistance of the Center; if not, the BJD will take to the streets. Pramila Mallik, meanwhile, chastised Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for drawing parallels between Lord Jagannath and his siblings and Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and his deputies, KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida.
