185 Associate Professor positions, 148 Assistant Professor positions, and 83 Professor positions are now unfilled at various Government Medical Colleges in Odisha, as revealed by Minister of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Mukesh Mahaling during a Monday assembly meeting. In response to a query from a BJD MLA from Kendrapara Ganeswar Behera, Mahaling disclosed this. Mahaling stated that DPCs are being held in order to fill the openings at the ranks of Professor and Associate Professor.
He stated that OPSC is using standard recruitment to fill the openings for Assistant Professor positions. In the event that the aforementioned requirements are not met, the Minister said, contractual employment is used as a stopgap measure to ensure that the Government Medical College’s teaching positions are filled.
