Odisha CM Meets Senior Officials, Seeks Help In Expediting Development Proposals

In order to move on with the recommendations he made at the NITI Aayog General Council Meeting, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi requested on Sunday the assistance of senior-level Odisha cadre officers employed by many Central government ministries. At the Odisha Bhavan in New Delhi, CM Mohan Charan Majhi, his Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo, and Pravati Parida attended the meeting with senior-level Odisha cadre officers.

CM Majhi said, “To achieve the goal of a developed Odisha, coordination and cooperation between the Central and state governments are necessary in all areas. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given special focus to Odisha under his ‘Purvodaya’ plan, creating vast opportunities for the state. With everyone’s cooperation, Odisha will surely achieve its ambitious goal.”

CM Majhi outlined during the meeting the areas in which Odisha requires assistance for development. These areas include port-based development, the creation of industrial corridors and parks, funding and approvals for the construction of railway and airport infrastructure, support for the development of infrastructure that is resilient to natural disasters, the establishment of hydro storage plants for the development of the green economy, solar projects, the establishment of bank branches and ATMs in underbanked areas to promote financial inclusion, the growth of the mining industry, the expansion of the railway network, foreign capital and cooperation for modern industries like semiconductors, and the protection of forest resources.

CM Majhi underlined that support from all facets of society is necessary and that government efforts alone are insufficient. He said that on July 25, the recently established Odisha government unveiled its maiden budget, which was formulated with feedback from a wide range of social groups, including economists, intellectuals, and more than 12,000 online comments. He conveyed optimism and confidence that their efforts will be realized with the assistance of Odisha cadre officials holding significant positions in the Central government.

According to Chief Minister Majhi, the involvement of several ministries of the central government is vital. These include the Ministries of Forests, Environment and Climate Change, Industry, Railways, and Civil Aviation, as well as any ministry that employs officers from the Odisha cadre. The Chief Minister stressed that our government is always open to receiving constructive criticism and your complete cooperation. He continued by saying that there would be a lot more talks in the upcoming days and that by working together, we can make Odisha’s goal of development a reality.
