The esteemed Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak-2024 has been given to three Odisha police personnel in appreciation of their outstanding crime-solving abilities. Rajendra Narayan Pattnaik, Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Aska Police Station in Ganjam district; Rigan Kindo, IIC of Malkangiri Police Station; and Sabyasachi Malla, IIC of R Udayagiri Police Station in Gajapati district, are the honored officers.
“It is a matter of great pride that three police officers from Odisha have received the Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak-2024 for excellence in crime investigation,” Odisha’s Director General of Police (DGP) Y B Khurania posted on X.
In recognition of their commitment and exceptional efforts to upholding peace and order, 463 police officers nationally received the Union Home Minister’s Dakshata Padak. The prize was given to Rajendra Narayan Pattnaik in 2020 for his outstanding work on a double murder case in Kalinga Nagar, Jajpur district. His thorough research led to the conviction of 17 of the 19 defendants, all of whom received life sentences.
In 2021, Sabyasachi Malla received recognition for cracking a difficult murder case involving an unnamed woman in Ganjam area. Ten days after the body was discovered, Malla’s team employed DNA profiling and tenacious efforts to identify the victim, which ultimately resulted in the accused’s arrest and life in jail. In 2022, Rigan Kindo received recognition for his accomplishment in cracking a challenging murder case in Malkangiri. Two culprits were apprehended as a result of his exhaustive investigation, and they were both given life sentences. The Union Home Ministry bestows the Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak in an effort to honor police performance, maintain the highest standards of professionalism, and raise officer morale.
