Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, visited Odisha on Sunday and examined important infrastructure projects in Bhubaneswar, reiterating the Center’s commitment to improving railway connections throughout the state. The Minister visited Bhubaneswar Railway Station and examined the ongoing modernization and rehabilitation projects under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He examined the development of passenger-focused improvements, such as better circulation spaces, improved station facilities, increased accessibility, and contemporary airport-style amenities.
When Vaishnaw spoke with travelers, they praised the airport-like amenities being constructed at the station and expressed happiness with the continuing development. He gave authorities instructions to speed up work and make sure it was finished on schedule. After seeing the planned elevated route on the eastern side, he gave the order to address any outstanding concerns as soon as possible in order to expedite its completion.
Later, the Minister emphasized the extraordinary scope of railway development in Odisha while taking part in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Heterogeneous Integration Packaging Solutions (3D Glass Solutions), India’s first cutting-edge glass semiconductor packaging plant. According to him, the state is now working on railway projects totaling more than Rs 90,000 crore, which represents a historic growth of train infrastructure. He further emphasized that Odisha has got a record budget allocation for railway construction of over Rs 10,000 crore (Rs 10,928 crore), which is about 13 times more than the average amount in prior decades.
