Singapore is ranked to have the most powerul passport

According to the 2025 Henley Passport Index, which ranks the world’s 199 passports based on the number of destinations they can access, Singapore holds the title of having the most powerful passport. The index, compiled by global advisory firm Henley & Partners, reveals that Singapore’s passport provides access to 193 countries out of the total 227. Japan and South Korea follow closely in second place, with their passports granting access to 190 countries.

Countries such as Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain share the third position, each with access to 189 destinations. On the other hand, India ranks much lower at 80th position, sharing its spot with Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Tajikistan, with access to fewer countries. The index, which is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), highlights the global disparity in passport strength.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Afghanistan holds the lowest rank, standing at 99th place with access to just 25 countries. Syria and Iraq follow closely behind, securing the 98th and 97th positions with access to 27 and 30 countries, respectively.
