“California Hindu Temple Vandalized with Anti-India Graffiti”

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Chino Hills, California, one of the largest Hindu temples in Southern California, was defaced with anti-India graffiti on Sunday, fueling concerns over rising religious tensions. This act of vandalism has sparked outrage within the Hindu community, particularly as it coincides with an upcoming Khalistan referendum event in Los Angeles. The Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) condemned the attack, calling it an attempt to sow division and hate. In a statement, BAPS reaffirmed the Hindu community’s resilience, declaring that they will stand united against hate and that peace and compassion will prevail.

The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from Hindu organizations, with the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) calling for a thorough investigation. CoHNA also highlighted the troubling trend of attacks on Hindu temples across the U.S., including a similar incident at the BAPS temple in Sacramento last September. These repeated acts of vandalism have raised alarms about the safety of Hindu communities and their places of worship. As tensions continue to rise, many are urging authorities to take swift action and enhance security around religious sites.
