According to a statement released on Monday, Vijender Gupta, the speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, will visit Bhubaneswar to see the effective use of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), which has assisted the Odisha Assembly in implementing a paperless legislative process. Speaker Gupta will have the chance to examine the digital procedures of the Odisha Assembly during the three-day study visit that runs from April 15 to April 17. The tour’s goal, according to a Delhi Assembly Secretariat official, was to examine the operational models, technology frameworks, and best practices that Odisha has used to successfully execute NeVA.
Gupta had declared that the Delhi Assembly will go paperless in 100 days during the most recent Budget session. According to an official, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is anticipated to disburse the required funding to facilitate the implementation of NeVA in Delhi in accordance with this pledge. Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, top Delhi Legislative Assembly officials, and other important NeVA project professionals will accompany Gupta on the research visit. The speaker expressed the expectation that this visit will play a key role in hastening the digital transformation of the Delhi Assembly, transforming it into a contemporary and open legislative body.
Speaker Gupta stated that with the prompt adoption of NeVA, the Delhi Legislative Assembly hopes to embrace a more open, technologically advanced, and citizen-focused approach to legislative functioning. The Delhi team will make courtesy calls to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati when they arrive in Bhubaneswar. The team will meet with Speaker Surama Padhy of the Odisha Legislative Assembly and the Committee on NeVA on April 16. Wrap-up meetings and additional conversations with stakeholders engaged in the NeVA implementation will take place on April 17, the tour’s last day.
