2025 has been a year of varied emotions worldwide. As I write this article, we are closer to 2030 than 2020, based on pure mathematics and optics that show how times are moving at a crazy pace.
If India’s Operation Sindoor was a proud retaliation to the barbaric attacks on its citizens, the war-like situation emerging from West Asia and the Middle is an ominous sign of things to come. War-like situations, shelling and attacks on cities have a detrimental impact on stock markets, crude oil and other essential commodities, which puts regular life in chaos.
War isn’t the solution! However, retaliation to safeguard your nation’s sovereignty is applauded by many. The lives of many civilians become collateral damage, which in turn leads to millions running for shelter in refugee camps and being at the mercy of the UN peace troops.
While we all hope for dialogue to resolve conflict, we are in such a situation in our lives, where a hint of megalomania will ensure the world comes crumbling down, leading to a famine-like situation.
What is the Solution?
World leaders must come together to set better boundaries, be open about their nuclear power investments and ensure civilians never bear the brunt of war and battles in each other’s backyard. There continues to be a power tussle between the first-world and emerging economies, which makes leaders put the skates on and head to the finish line; which is unfortunately only possible through peace, cooperation and collaboration on multiple fronts.
Countries at war have the right to protect their nation. However, those at the helm of affairs must realise that the costs of being assertive must not be overspilled into the lives of citizens across borders.
War is Evident. Or is it?
The situations around the world call for better peace-keeping and improved collaboration. Economies around the world are still reeling from the lockdowns induced by the pandemic, and the war in Northern Asia doesn’t seem to have a solution in sight! While there have been multiple efforts to bring leaders to the table through multiple high-delegation meetings, the power grab and hostility still persist. Furthermore, the Iran-Israel conflict has occurred due to one side claiming to be using nuclear weapons for mass destruction, leading millions to believe that we are in a time warp, and an imminent war between the Axis powers, last seen in the 1940s, could be a possibility.
Unite to Prosper!
Humanity, inclusive of 8 billion people, seeks peace and nothing else. While there are miscreants who find sadistic joy through misadventures and use religion to brainwash people with talks about being a superior race; a huge chunk of the world seeks to live with pride, work with passion and build a life that includes the happiness of their loved ones, and most importantly, be part of communities that excel in everything they do.
The world waits for a solution to the various conflicts around the world. Prosperous and peace-loving nations like India, the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the like must be proactive in promoting human ingenuity and honing people’s potential for the larger good of the world.
We are all part of one world, let’s make it dazzle with positivity.
