Ravichandran Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh—two of India’s greatest off-spinners—finally addressed long-standing rumours of a rift between them during a candid chat on Ashwin’s YouTube show Kutti Stories With Ash.
In the episode, Ashwin brought up the lingering speculation, asking Harbhajan, “People say you are jealous of the person who is interviewing you today. What would that be about, Bhajji pa?”
Before Ashwin could go further, Harbhajan swiftly dismissed the notion, clarifying that he’s never been one to harbour jealousy against his teammates. “People often project their own mindset onto others,” Ashwin added, suggesting that public perception is often rooted in personal biases.
The interaction has since gone viral, with fans praising both legends for their honesty and mutual respect.

He further added, “Naturally, it is bound to be like that. Some people believe I retired because Washington Sundar is in the thick of things. All of this is the perspective of others.”
Both Ashwin and Harbhajan have carved legendary careers in Indian cricket. Ashwin is currently India’s second-highest wicket-taker in international cricket, behind Anil Kumble, while Harbhajan retired with over 400 Test wickets to his name.
