Charlie Kirk on Pahalgam Terror Attack, Operation Sindoor: ‘This Is Not Our War’

Charlie Kirk, a prominent podcaster and close ally of former US President Donald Trump who was shot dead at a Utah college event on Wednesday, had earlier voiced strong views on the India-Pakistan conflict.

In a May podcast episode titled “What the Heck is Going on in India!”, Kirk condemned Pakistan for harboring terrorists while describing India as a Hindu-majority nation outraged by the Pahalgam terror attack. He referred to Operation Sindoor, India’s retaliatory strikes on terror camps across the border, and warned that both countries were “on the verge of war.”

Despite acknowledging reports of heavy casualties and airstrikes on multiple sites in Pakistan, Kirk dismissed the likelihood of nuclear escalation, citing the principle of mutually assured destruction (MAD).

Kirk stressed that while America could extend moral support to India for retaliating against terrorism, it must not get entangled militarily. “This is not our war… not our conflict to get involved in,” he said, cautioning against hawkish US voices pushing for intervention.

He also linked the conflict to trade and geopolitics, noting that then-President Trump believed India might reduce tariffs on US goods, potentially strengthening ties while countering China. “This is a great test of whether every conflict is America’s problem,” Kirk remarked, advocating diplomacy over military involvement.
