An all-party conference was convened in Bhubaneswar to ensure the smooth operation of the Odisha Assembly ahead of Tuesday’s budget session. Speaker Surama Padhy presided over the meeting, which sought to address important legislative issues and promote communication between the various political parties in order to guarantee a seamless and well-coordinated session. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Rama Chandra Kadam, opposition deputy leader Prasanna Acharya, and opposition chief whip Pramila Mallik were present at the meeting.
The discussion focused on ensuring a peaceful and orderly conduct of the House, stated Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Mahaling following the end of the meeting. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who hold Finance portfolio, is slated to present the state budget for the 2026–27 financial year on February 20. Therefore, the House will take up discussions on the demands for grants of various departments.
After the meeting concluded, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Mahaling said that the main goal of the discussion was to ensure that the House was conducted in a calm and orderly manner. On February 20, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who oversees the Finance ministry, is scheduled to deliver the state budget for the fiscal year 2026–2027. As a result, the House will start talking on the requests for funds made by different agencies.
