Rs 194-Crore Development Push For Rairakhol Constituency

In a major infrastructure push for western Odisha, 48 development projects worth around Rs 194 crore were inaugurated and their foundation stones laid in the Rairakhol constituency, officials said. Sambalpur MP and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the projects aim to accelerate all-round development in the region by strengthening key sectors such as education, health, road connectivity and agriculture. He said the initiatives would bring significant socio-economic transformation in Rairakhol, Naktideul and Jujumura blocks in the coming years.

Speaking at a public event in Naktideul, Pradhan characterized Sambalpur as a place of valiant battle and rich cultural legacy. He recalled the sacrifice made by Madhu Gartia, a freedom warrior who gave his life in opposition to British tyranny. “His bravery and dedication continue to be an inspiration,” he remarked. The Minister reported that 31 new projects valued at Rs 184.69 crore had foundation stones set, while 17 projects worth Rs 9.17 crore were dedicated to the residents of Rairakhol, Naktideul, and Jujumura.

The construction of the “Bhima Mandali” Eco Heritage Site, which would cost Rs 8.30 crore, is one of the major projects that have been announced. An estimated Rs 18 crore will be spent on the construction of a new Community Health Center facility in Naktideul, which will include a BPHU unit. At a cost of Rs 16.10 crore, a tiny stadium would be built to encourage sports and youth involvement. To increase regional connection, the Rampur–Girishchandrapur road under the Rairakhol block is being upgraded at a cost of Rs 47.24 crore.
