For the first time since independence, a woman will be hanged, preparations are underway

For the first time in the history of independent India, a female prisoner will be hanged. Shabnam will be hanged at the only women’s hanging house in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Preparations for this have already begun. Meerut’s Pawan Jahlad, who hanged the Nirbhaya’s accused, has twice inspected the hangar. No hanging date has been set.

Shabnam, who lives in Amroha, brutally killed eight members of her family in Tangier in April 2008 along with her boyfriend. The Supreme Court upheld Shabnam’s death sentence in the murder case. The president also denied his request. Shabnam was then hanged. Shabnam is the first woman to be hanged after the country became independence.

According to sources, the women’s hangar was built 150 years ago in Mathura Jail. But since independence, no woman has been hanged. Senior jail superintendent Shailendra Kumar said the death date had not been set. But preparations are underway to hang him in jail. Shabnam will be hanged as soon as the death warrant is issued. A rope has been demanded from the Bihar boxer for hanging. “If there are no restrictions in the end, Shabnam will be the first woman to be hanged,” he said.
