J&K High Court orders cyber cell to file an FIR against Facebook India

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has ordered the filing of an FIR against the head and other officials of Facebook India. A Jammu resident has accused Facebook of cheating online. Following the hearing, High Court Judge Justice D S Thakur directed the cyber cell of police to file an FIR and investigate the .

According to reports, Jammu resident Vivek Sagar was the victim of a scam through an advertisement on Facebook. About Rs 20,600 was lost in it. He complained to the High Court about this.

According to the victim, the person using Bajaj Finance, Quad Television and Internet services on Facebook, along with the SMS service, defrauded him of Rs 20,700. “The IPC and the IT Act 2000 have been prosecuted in connection with the scam,” he said.

Vivek went to the police cyber cell to file a complaint. But the police did not take any action. As a result, he became the doorman of the local court. Court left the case to the police for trial. Challenging this, he filed a petition in the High Court. The High Court, however, heard the case and directed the police to file a case.
