If Australians are the big boys when it comes to winning senior 50-50 World Cups, Team India is a master of winning under 19 world cups. Yesterday, the young emerging talents of India beat England under 19 by 4 wickets to claim their 5th Under 19 World Cup.
It was a sensational bowling display by Team India with pacer Bawa (5/31 in 9.5 overs) and Ravi Kumar (4/34 from 9 overs) demolishing Team England. On the other India, India was in a tricky position at one stage with 98 with the loss of 4 wickets but a good show from the middle order batting which helped the team to cross the line by 4 wickets with 14 balls to spare.
This is team India’s 5th title of Under 19 world Cup. India has won previously in 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2018. This was the first time India won an under 19 world cup under the coachwhip of VVS Laxman.
