The Odisha government revised its decision relating to students’ participation in the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in the State.
According to the reports, the government has allowed the students to take part in the celebrations on August 15. Earlier School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash stated that as per the guideline issued by the State government, the Independence Day celebration this year will be held in schools without the participation of students. However, teachers need to be present during the whole event.
But later changing the decision the minister informed that school children can participate in the Independence Day celebrations in educational institutions across the State. However, the government has imposed a restriction on the participation of common people in the celebrations. It has also said no to the state-level parade on the occasion.
