Healthcare is in disarray

In Cuttack, a patient was treated in an autorickshaw while using a portable flashlight

After a critical patient was discovered being treated inside an auto-rickshaw under a moving torchlight at Niali Community Health Center (CHC) in Cuttack district on Thursday night, the Odisha government’s lofty boasts of offering people better healthcare facilities once again proved false.

After the incident’s video went viral, the issue was made public.

A source claims that Sheikh Sajid of the Niali neighborhood’s Purba Khanda slum brought his very ill father to Niali CHC in an auto-rickshaw. There are only two beds at CHC. The two beds were taken when Sajid arrived at the CHC.
Sajid claims that the physicians were forced to treat his father inside the auto-rickshaw due to a lack of other options.

“Niali CHC’s healthcare system is in a pitiful state. No beds were available when we got to the hospital. According to Sajid, our patient received treatment inside the auto-rickshaw.The CHC authorities acknowledged the occurrence when questioned about it and expressed concern.”When the patient arrived in an auto-rickshaw, both of the hospital’s two beds were already taken. The patient insisted on getting medical attention inside the auto-rickshaw. I acknowledge that it is improper to treat a patient in an auto-rickshaw. Dr. S. Navin, medical superintendent of Niali CHC, said, “I have instructed the CHC doctors to refer patients to other local hospitals if they find the two beds occupied. The healthcare service has been impacted by a lack of suitable infrastructure, and a new building is being constructed.
