CM Naveen Patnaik interacts with ASEAN Heads of Missions in India

The Association of South East Asian Nations and Odisha were encouraged to expand their economic and cultural connections by the state’s chief minister, Naveen Patnaik. “Odisha has the advantage of location and has been bestowed with natural resources and significant ports on the Bay of Bengal,” the Chief Minister remarked in an interaction with the ASEAN Heads of Missions during the lead-up to Make in Odisha-2022 from November 30 to December 4.

The Lok Seva Bhavan Convention Center served as the venue for the gathering. Along with their trade delegations, the Chief Minister also extended an invitation to the Ambassadors to join the Make in Odisha Conclave’22.

The team’s leader, Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, the ambassador to the Royal Thai Embassy, conveyed her deep thanks to the Chief Minister and the government of Odisha for their hospitality. She stated that there is a great deal of opportunity for commercial and cultural linkages with Odisha given the historical trade and cultural ties that have existed between Odisha and ASEAN countries for more than 2500 years. She praised the picturesque surroundings of several destinations in Odisha. She declared that they firmly believe in the economic potential of Odisha and will promote this in their respective nations. She said that there is a ton of room for trade in the accommodation, services, food processing, and medical tourism industries.

The Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik, met with a senior team of ASEAN Heads of Mission in India today to end their three-day tour. The mission was led by Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador to the Royal Thai Embassy in India. A delegation visited Odisha on October 26, 2022.

During the Ambassadors’ Meet held in New Delhi in August of last year in preparation for the Make in Odisha Conclave’22, the team of ASEAN Heads of Mission in New Delhi accepted the chief minister’s offer to visit Odisha.
