In conversation with Eminent Author Amar B. Singh

Amar B. Singh is a growth and marketing leader and has written the book “2042”. He also has qualifications in engineering. Let us know more about his journey in this interview.

Q1.) What inspired you to become an author?

Ans:- I used to write and later published on several platforms like my college magazine and some online magazines. Some of my readers suggested that I should publish these as books as the content kept growing. That was the beginning of my journey as an author.

Q2.) How did you decide the pest of the book “2042”? Kindly attach the link for purchasing the book”?

Ans:- I am a growth and marketing professional and have been working in the technology area for a long time now. I am amazed at the acceleration of tech adoption and can’t but compare this to the emergence of faster cars. But just as beyond a particular speed cars are difficult to control, I see humans reaching those levels of tech adoption soon. My estimate for that period is 2 decades. That’s why 2042.

Q3.) You have also won the “Golden Book Award in the category:- Spiritual fiction”. Tell us more about it.

Ans:- The book ‘Kurukshetra: God in the time of Covid’ was written in 2020 during the lockdown when the whole world was looking at unprecedented circumstances. The images of thousands of poor who had to walk down to their villages caught my attention and touched my heart… That brought up the question why would God be biased towards some and others felt pain. This was the question that I underwent in my mind as a conversation between a poor man and God Himself. What would God say to that poor man named Arjun! I used my knowledge of Mahabharat and Gita to try and write this as a verse novel… A humble attempt at answering my own questions by the concept of God in me, if you will. Am glad that people liked the book. This was also published as ‘Maya lifting the veil ‘ on Kindle as Amazon didn’t approve a book with covid in its name at that time.

Q4.) The youth of today is so entangled in their regular studies, that they hardly have any time to read books out of syllabus. What is your take on this topic?
Ans:- And I don’t have time to write after my work. I totally appreciate this issue and it’s part of the reason that I hate to waste time by writing needless passages when I can communicate the same thought in a few verses. So many have asked me why I don’t write long novels and this has been my answer… Some things do need to be told but one can save one’s time and the readers’ by saying that in a shorter, more precise format.
Also, syllabus prepares us for the floor but there’s an endless ceiling, the sky is the limit as far as knowing is concerned… The youth should choose wisely as they read for personal growth. In this age of marketing, so many things are taking time which don’t add any value to the enrichment of life… I call that junk reading and just like junk food one should avoid junk reads, which look good on surface but have little to no value…

Q5.) The book you have written required a lot of research. How did you manage to do all of the research within a short span of time?
Ans:-I don’t wait to research when I am writing. I read and introspect daily. In fact that’s why I have no time for entertainment… I have my broad thoughts in place and then writing doesn’t take a lot of time.

Q6.) Mention any advice that you want to give to the readers.
Ans:- Choose what you read wisely. Don’t read junk. And finally, reading books is like reading menu cards at restaurants… You can read the descriptions of food but you don’t have the taste until you have eaten the food… Please think about what you read in my books, be self aware, watch yourself in action not after you have acted. And you will have better control over yourself. The biggest win is when you have won your own mind…
