As a result of the addition of 258 new cases, the state reported another Covid fatality on Friday, bringing the total for this year to two. There are now 1,186 active cases, which is more than 1,000. According to health officials, the 65-year-old lady who passed away from Covid was a resident of the Jharsuguda area and had chronic renal disease as well as hypertension. Following a death audit, the health department tweeted that a 65-year-old female from Jharsuguda who also had an acute kidney infection, chronic renal disease, and pulmonary edema passed away.
This fatality follows that of a guy from Sundargarh who passed away in the first week of April from Covid and several other issues. The cases will continue to rise for a few more days, according to health officials, who say they are properly prepared.”We are on the alert since the state is experiencing a little increase in Covid cases. In order to isolate the contaminated ones, we screen more than 6,000 samples per day. There is absolutely no reason to panic. People should always wear a mask while they are outside to prevent infection, advised public health director Niranjan Mishra. With the two fatalities this year, there have now been 9,207 fatalities overall across all waves.
Dr. Asutosh Biswas, director of the AIIMS in Bhubaneswar, had already stated that it was important to study the virus’s pathogenicity and offer guidance.
