All Heritage Sites Including Dhauli Will Be Developed Says CM Mohan Majhi

Despite being an average hill, the Dhauli Hill has a rich history in Odisha. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi remarked at the opening of the 52nd foundation day festivities of the Dhauli Shanti Stupa in Dhauli that it is a symbol of the fortitude, courage, and power of the courageous children of Kalinga. He went on to say that the blood and tears shed by Odisha’s brave youngsters had bound the pilgrimage site of Dhauli together.

The Chief Minister, who was present at the event held at Dhauli, stated that Emperor Ashoka had adopted Buddhism and made a pledge of peace during the Kalinga War in 261 BC. Less than fifty-two years ago, the Japanese government worked to create this monument of peace. It has since come to represent friendliness and harmony.

The Chief Minister said, “When Buddhism is discussed, Odisha’s name comes first. The extent of Buddhism that spread in Odisha and that can be seen in Bihar-Odisha cannot be seen in any other province of India. Buddhism spread in Odisha from the 6th century BC. A decisive turning point in the history of India took place on the banks of Daya River in the land of Dhauli,”

He said that although Dhauli is a Buddhist image, the state’s citizens now recognize it as a part of their culture since it has become so ingrained in Odia language, customs, and culture. The Dhulai Shanti Stupa will continue to grow, and the neighborhood will be much enhanced. The development of all our cultural sites, including Dhauli, would follow a coordinated strategy, according to the chief minister. Prithviraj Harichandan, the law minister of Odisha, and renowned Buddhist monk T Okangi were guests on the show.
