According to an official release, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is now heading a high-level Indian corporate delegation to Greece with an emphasis on growing bilateral trade and investment flows as well as strategic economic cooperation.The India-UK: Partners in Progress Business Plenary, which was held in London on Saturday, marked the successful conclusion of the minister’s three-day visit to the UK. Leading industry players from both nations expressed strong support for the proposed Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) as a revolutionary framework for strengthening trade and investment links, confirming the strong momentum in bilateral economic relations.

 

According to the statement, the minister’s activities in the UK and the current trip to Greece demonstrate the Indian government’s ongoing dedication, under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to bolstering international economic ties, encouraging growth driven by innovation, and advancing India’s trade and investment diplomacy in significant international markets. The group will take part in startup pitches and presentations at The Athens Startup Business Incubator (THEA) while in Greece, offering a venue to highlight cutting-edge businesses and foster international innovation collaborations.

 

At the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), the group will also have targeted roundtable talks with Greek and Indian business executives. In order to find new opportunities for cooperation and fortify private-sector alliances, the talks will focus on important areas such as infrastructure, digitalization and defense, and food and agriculture. Leading stakeholders from both nations will participate in a high-level business meeting as part of the program to discuss prospects for increased investment and business collaborations in priority industries. In order to build economic synergies between the two nations, the group will also visit top Greek businesses to investigate cooperation in sophisticated manufacturing and technology-driven industries.

 

The visit will conclude with interactions involving key business and institutional stakeholders aimed at deepening industry partnerships and expanding bilateral trade linkages, the statement added.
