Ahead of winter, migratory birds from all over the world are migrating to Chilika, the largest waterbird habitat in Odisha, India. Today, Chilika is home to a breathtaking array of migratory species, ranging from glossy ibises and Eurasian wigeons to ducks and flamingos.
These birds are said to be mostly from parts of Northern Eurasia outside the Himalayas, as well as isolated places in Siberia, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, and Russia. They travel to Chilika yearly and begin their trek home before summer begins.
These lovely feathery friends have arrived a little early than usual this year. They are said to have travelled millions of kilometers to Chilika because winter arrived early in their natural habitats. Bird enthusiasts all throughout the world are delighted by their presence.
