Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and other collectors along with Executive officers conducted a meeting where they participated in the discussion regarding Chief Minister’s “Cleanest City Award” over a video conferencing.
The meeting which included 30 Collectors and Executive Officers of all 114 ULBs participated in the discussion and was held from Lok Seba Bhawan. Suresh Chandra stated in the meeting that the motive of this award is an innovative initiative by the Chief Minister of Odisha and it helps to create a lively competition between the ULBs regarding the clean and liveable city.
Even the solid waste management through micro composting centers is a patterned end to end solution from discrimination at the source to the door to door collection composting and disposal. He further asked the Collectors to present the initiative as a mass movement through concentrated awareness, behaviour change education, and effective engagement of the people.
Even he directed the ULBs to include the members of the Mission Shakti and Transgender groups in operation and management of the MCCs. They were also directed to recognize all rag pickers and involve them in the works of MCCs, material recovery facilities (MRFs) so that they could earn their living from it. For the improvement of the bus stands, parking places and also to open areas in each ULB the work should be done.
Other prominent people like- Additional Secretary Kalayan Kumar Ratha and other senior officers of the H&UD Department also participated in the meeting.
