In order to evaluate the state’s overall state of law and order, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presided over a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan on Wednesday. In order to maintain peace and public safety, he gave the police administration explicit instructions to keep a close eye on troublemakers, suspicious people, and antisocial elements in every district. The Chief Minister told police personnel to act firmly to stop any disturbance and voiced worry over the actions of some motivated groups who were reportedly attempting to damage Odisha’s reputation as a peaceful state.
Majhi reviewed the situation in Cuttack and observed that, with the curfew removed and internet connections restored, things are slowly getting back to normal. But in order to preserve stability, he warned against complacency and urged police officers to keep patrolling and stationed in vulnerable places.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need of reestablishing social harmony in Cuttack and instructed top authorities to regularly engage with local leaders in order to foster understanding and peace. He had earlier urged Cuttack’s citizens to work with the government to bring peace back. Majhi, who expressed sorrow over the death of lawyer and social worker Pitabash Panda in Berhampur, gave police instructions to find and capture the murderers as soon as possible and to guarantee that those involved get severe punishment.
Senior officials attended the meeting, including DGP Y.B. Khurania, Principal Secretary to the CM Saswat Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyabrata Sahu, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, and Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakash Mishra. The orders highlight the state government’s commitment to upholding law and order and its determination to protect Odisha’s standing as a state known for peace and harmony among its people.
