Rahul Gandhi is engaging in a risky narrative, playing on India’s diversity to create division rather than foster unity. This echoes the Congress Party’s long-standing strategy of divide and rule, a tactic reminiscent of British colonial rule, but now equipped with modern political tools.
Since 1947, Congress has consistently relied on divisive politics, even if it meant partitioning the country along religious or caste lines. Rahul Gandhi himself has previously claimed that “India is not a nation” and called for foreign intervention in internal matters.
Stoking Divisions, Ignoring Unity
When the people of Amethi rejected him, Rahul Gandhi turned to Wayanad, fueling a North-South divide. Now, he is once again stoking tensions, encouraging conflict over language and identity.
Selective Outrage or Political Convenience?
In Kashmir, Rahul Gandhi has accused the government of taking land from residents to give to outsiders. Yet, he seems to have conveniently overlooked the tragic exodus of Kashmiri Pandits—those who were the original inhabitants of the region and were driven out by extremists. Why ignore their decades-long exile?
Congress’s Stereotypes of Division
We must not forget the deeply offensive remarks made by Sam Pitroda, Chairman of the Overseas Congress, who carelessly stereotyped people based on their appearance. His comments, likening people from the South to Africans, the East to Arabs, and the Northeast to Chinese, reflect a divisive mindset that has long been a hallmark of Congress.
Unity and Justice for All, Not for Political Gain
India’s true strength lies in its unity and rich cultural diversity. It is time to reject Congress’s manipulative tactics, which seek to divide citizens for political gain while erasing the historical suffering of certain communities in the name of political alliances. Unity and justice must not be selective, and should never be compromised for power.
