Delhi Speaker Vijender Gupta Meets CM Majhi During Visit To Study NeVA For Paperless Assembly Proceedings

At Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, a delegation of the Delhi government, headed by Speaker of the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta, met with Chief Minister Mohan Majhi today. Gupta came to the State to find out more about how the Odisha Assembly has adopted a paperless legislative procedure thanks to the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA). Speaker Gupta will have the chance to examine the digital procedures of the Odisha Assembly during the three-day study visit that runs from April 15 to April 17.

The goal of the journey, according to a Delhi Assembly Secretariat official, is to examine the operational models, technology frameworks, and best practices that Odisha has used to successfully implement NeVA. The group met with Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy and Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati after arriving in Bhubaneswar. Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, prominent Delhi Assembly officials, and important E-Vidhan project staff are on the Delhi team. Before the Delhi team, Odisha Chief Minister Manjhi gave a summary of the state’s cutting-edge computerized attendance system. In keeping with the objective of a paperless Assembly, this solution enables Legislative Assembly members to record attendance and see daily activities using digital dashboards.

Speaker Gupta described the Delhi Assembly’s plan to switch to solar electricity in a separate conversation with the governor of Odisha. He told him that 550 kilowatt of solar power will soon be produced by the Assembly, saving an estimated Rs 15 lakh a month on electricity bills. Governor Dr. Kambhampati of Odisha indicated interest in implementing a comparable solar energy system at the Raj Bhavan after being inspired by this approach. He praised Delhi’s forward-thinking efforts to combine technology and environmental sustainability, emphasizing how it may act as a template for national legislative bodies.
