Life is about experiencing courage and strength.Everything is possible if you have belief. The tribal community in India, represents an enormous diversity of groups. They have faced segregation from a long time.Today we see tribal women have access to the outside world.Their increasing mobility through various income generation activities like self help groups has changed their perspective and has opened new opportunities for them. The tribals in the past were forest dwellers and their livelihood to a great extent depended on food gathering economy. The women walked long distance to fetch food and wood. The men helped them by collecting timber and logs. They have faced social exclusion and economic exploitation.

The women were involved in broadcasting the seeds, weeding and harvesting.Women preserved the seeds at home. The men guarded the crops from wild animals.Cash crops are being preferred.Women are losing their labour work. They are preferring to raise cash crops and high breed crops. For quite some time tribes have been exposed to industries. They are forced to work in infrastructure sector in cities.Women are paid much less as compared to men.
Some tribal women were famous for their weaving skills.Every textile used to show certain history of respective tribes. Some of the tribal women are expert in doing business. Many women run small family business that requires very little initial capital. It involves marketing of food articles and handicrafts. They are never trained in keeping their own culture alive which is perfect in their own imperfections. They have made themselves heard and visible. At the local level, the administration has promised support and cooperation. As we move forward,we must ensure we are developing collective agency for women in these tribal communities. It is power of belief that makes everything happen in there lives.
