In its most recent weather report, the India Meteorological Department stated that during the next five days, the East and South Peninsula of India are predicted to continue experiencing heatwave to severe heatwave conditions.
As per IMD’s April 26 update, heatwave to several heatwave conditions are expected to be seen in several places over the Gangetic West Bengal, in some parts over Odisha and in some isolated pockets over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal during next 5 days. It further said that people should anticipate heat wave conditions in scattered areas across Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and East Uttar Pradesh over the next five days. Kerala and Mahe will experience these conditions from the 26th to the 28th, while Konkan will be affected from the 27th to the 29th, and West Uttar Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam from the 28th to the 30th of April.
From the 26th to the 28th, Assam, Meghalaya, and Tripura are predicted to experience hot and humid weather; from the 26th to the 30th, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are predicted to experience the same conditions. On April 26 and 27, this will strike coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, while on April 26, Goa and the Konkan will be impacted.
