Q1) How did you understand your calling as an author ? What was your first writing experience ?
Ans- Hi, calling an author is a great achievement, I couldn’t understand the value of being a published author when I wrote my first ever reference book 16 years back, co authored with my bestie. But now in my second inning the things have been changed a lot, getting re started after 11 year’s long break is itself a big achievement.
Q2) How did you decide the plot for “Secret Purple Diary”. Give us a short brief about the book .
Ans- Well ! Secret Purple Diary is based on true story of a passionate, enthusiastic girl “Anamika” starting from her college, facing corporate struggle, falling in love, getting married, having kids, adjusting in new & different family, depression, almost lost herself for the sake of others, finding herself again, rebuilding her life according to her choices and so on. So it’s a series of emotional stories and poetry exploring life’s ups and downs.
Through this and my future books I am initiating “The Mission Purple” Today everyone is super busy with their own pre- planned schedule, nobody has time to listen but on the other hand everyone has suppressed feelings in the corner of their heart, which they couldn’t or sometimes don’t want to share. So here is a platform where anyone can share their feelings in their own words and nobody is going to judge you for this. You can be anonymous while sharing your thoughts and feelings. Q3) Nowadays a majority of the youth is much more focused on social media rather than reading books. What is your view on this topic ?
Ans – Everyone has their own choices & priorities. I love reading & collecting books, I have my own personal library, but don’t have time to sit & read. So I also prefer kindle or audio books. World is changing & so should we. Social Media has changed everything drastically but believe me It all depends upon your choices. I have seen so many newcomers who are doing wonderful job in the world of stories & poems through Instagram & Facebook. I rather think Social Media is a bridge between all the age groups, you can explore the variety of work under one platform, which is great. Keeping this in mind now Secret Purple Diary will be available in all the versions e.g. Audio, video, kindle, paperback coloured & black & white too & on all the platforms e.g. Amazon, flip kart, audibles, apple store, Spotify, story tell etc. So, along with paperback, audio and video format, is another plus factor of this chapbook.
Q4) What challenges did you face as an author ?Kindly attach the links of your book so that the readers can get a grasp on these beautiful reads.
Ans: Life is a struggle, everyday is a new challenge. Sometimes you are overwhelmed with so many thoughts & sometimes you are blank. If I talk about my first ever book, It was quite easy coz you have to write what you study in collage, those facts are already researched by experts, that’s the theoretical part of life. But now it’s all about practical phase of life, the real one.
Challenges depends upon the situation, when I wrote my first ever book the things were different, I only had to schedule my timings according to my choices
But when I talk about the second inning as a mother it’s really challenging, coz motherhood is a 24*7 job, that too with small kids it’s more challenging coz they need you at every step. You can’t write anytime or when you wish to or when you have ideas in fact you have to wait until you are totally free. So for me the main challenge is to get time for my passion.
One of my teacher from Delhi University taught us the golden rule, which I follow till now. He said, “Writing something is not only about demonstrating your knowledge, it’s also about connecting with your readers” I tried this path breaking pattern of writing poems in simple yet heart touching and reader connecting language. Using day to day language is the bridge between English and Hindi, I am sure readers will enjoy reading their own stories in their own language.

Q5) We know that there is a lot of hard work that goes behind the launching of books .From preparing the final manuscript to writing the first draft till publishing. Tell us how your experience was and to whom would you dedicate your success in this entire process? Also attach the link of your instagram id.
Ans: Yes it was a struggle for me as well. It took almost 2 years to convince & to launch my second book of second inning. I believe, It’s too difficult to take the first ever step towards your goal but once you started sky is the limit.
In the entire process my family was standing with me with loads of suggestions and inputs; My mother father, sisters brother, my husband, friends and most importantly My kids Mann & Gaurik. In fact, even after getting the green signal, I was not getting time to write but at that time my 5 years old boy gave priceless suggestion. I must say the people behind this success, is my family specially my kids Mann & Gaurik. I dedicate this book to all my well-wishers, readers & the Universe for abundance.
