According to the proposed plan, vehicles will run on the lower deck, while the Metro rail will run on the upper deck. These flyovers have been designed in such a way that it will save, according to the government estimates, around ₹ 121 cr of taxpayers’ money.The government of Delhi, led by Arvind Kejriwal, announced plans to build 26 new flyover, underpass, and bridge projects throughout the city. They include initiatives like the elevated road at Najafgarh Phirni and the Barapullah Phase 3 flyovers from Punjabi Bagh to Raja Garden and Sarai Kale Khan to Mayur Vihar.
