JSPL Foundation Chairperson Shallu Jindal Honoured With ‘Impact Leader’ Award At ‘India CSR Leadership Summit – 2021

JSPL Foundation chairperson Shallu Jindal has been honored as one of the ‘Top 10 Impact Leaders of India’ during the ‘India CSR Leadership Summit – 2021. The event was organized by India CSR Network on 16th January 2021.

For her contribution to building a Resilient India during the Coronavirus pandemic, she was honored with this prominent ‘Impact Leader Award’.

While appreciating the award Shallu Jindal stated that JSPL Foundation always believes in Building India and Empowering Lives. The whole foundation holds that the pandemic will soon get over and things will be back like before. JSPL will continue to provide services to mankind serving everyone. She also thanked IndiaCSR Network for this recognition.

Shallu has been instrumental in initiating various programs to support the government and administration in mitigating the impacts and the outcomes of COVID-19 in India. She led the JSPL Foundation, the CSR Arm of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL) where they help to provide hot cooked meals and other food materials to the poor people. They will provide aid to improve the livelihood of thousands of families who were affected during the pandemic.

JSPL Foundation launched ‘Mission Zero Hunger’ after the national lockdown was under the initiative they provided about half a million meals which included both cooked and dry food to migrant workers, daily wage earners, street tenants, poverty-stricken, truckers, shelter homes, and other socially vulnerable populace and other operational locations of JSPL in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand.

Along with the food the initiative also provided sanitizers, hand wash, disinfectants, and masks to the tribals. These were manufactured as a part of the Income Generation Activities by women in Self Help Groups.

During the pandemic multi-specialty, OP Jindal Hospitals provided around  133 beds and 15 ICUs for COVID-19 Care along with additional ventilators, PPE kits, Oxygen cylinders, and isolation wards, and COVID care centers.

For PM CARES Fund, the company also contributed Rs. 25 Crore for the Coronavirus pandemic.
