Kejriwal asks for help from Central Government – amid floods

The Yamuna water level in Delhi has shattered all-time record of 207.49 metres established in 1978 and is presently running at 207.71 metres, Central Water Commission has announced.
A Delhi government official stated, “Around 8000-9000 people have been evacuated so far. The monastery region and the yacht club in the central district are susceptible points. We have sent more relief and rescue workers to the affected areas. We are actively following the situation.”

In Delhi, close to the Yamuna, 41,000 people reside in low-lying, prone-to-flooding neighbourhoods.
On Tuesday, the Hathni Kund barrage pumped 3,59,000 cusecs of water into the Yamuna, increasing the flow rate there to 3,59,760, the highest in the previous three days. 352 cusecs per second is the average flow rate at the barrage. 28.32 litres per second make up one cusec.22 state governments have received a total of Rs. 7,532 crore from the ministry of finance for their individual State Disaster Response Funds (SDRF).
