Due to the rising cases of the Covid-19 in the state, Special Relief Commissioner PK Jena issued fresh guidelines for the safety of the public and to contain the spread in Odisha.
According to the new guidelines for the Covid-19, a maximum of 200 persons will be allowed to attend marriage and other social functions and 50 at funeral/last rite gatherings. Earlier 500 people were allowed to attend marriages as well as funeral and last rite functions but now it has been restricted to 200.
Whereas in closed spaces the attendance will be a maximum of 50 pc of the hall capacity and in the open spaces an appropriate number of people will be allowed keeping the new ceilings in view to ensure maintenance of the prescribed physical distancing norms.
The new guideline order further adds that wearing masks, maintaining social distancing norms, provision of thermal scanning and use of hand wash or sanitizer will be mandatory.
All the necessary arrangements for the checking at the entry point and ensuring the wearing of masks by the guests and others during the entire duration of their participation will be strictly taken care of by the host of the marriage or funeral function. The host will also make arrangements to provide masks to those who have not come with them.
Special Relief Commissioner PK Jena directed all the district collectors and SPs, municipal commissioners, and Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack to ensure strict implementation of this guideline. Jena further warned that any person who was found violating the order will be punished under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act,2005 and other relevant laws.
