Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik used a video conference on Thursday to introduce several health infrastructure projects valued at Rs 1140 crore, to improve healthcare services throughout the state of Odisha. The Chief Minister laid the cornerstones for 372 upcoming projects worth Rs 1000 crore spread across the state and unveiled 103 completed projects at a cost of Rs 140 crore. Chief Minister Patnaik emphasized in his speech the revolutionary effect that the 5T initiatives have had on improving government hospital services. He highlighted the public’s increased trust in the government’s healthcare system and gave credit to these initiatives for boosting public confidence.
Patnaik also praised the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), which serves over a lakh people each month and plays a significant role in providing free and improved healthcare services to the public. He emphasized the government’s steadfast commitment to offering top-notch medical care. The Chief Minister expressed hopes that Odisha would become a healthcare leader and emphasized the importance of the recently initiated projects in improving health infrastructure. The establishment of a “Sustha Odisha Sukhi Odisha” (Healthy Odisha, Happy Odisha) continues to be the main objective.
Patnaik underlined the commitment to improve district health services, community health services, and primary health care throughout the state, highlighting a significant investment of Rs 12,000 crores over the previous five years in health infrastructure development.
At the function, the Chief Minister unveiled the BSKY, a special helpline 1800 120 120 104 that serves Odia people living outside of the state.
