BHUBANESWAR: In a determined move to address the challenges faced by tribals, Dalits, and other marginalized communities in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reiterated his government’s firm stance against corruption. Speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day collectors’ conference held at Lok Seva Bhawan on Friday, the Chief Minister emphasized that there will be no room for compromise under his leadership.
“There is no question of compromise on corruption under the BJP government,” Majhi stated. “I have realised that there were significant irregularities and project cost escalations due to delays in the previous administration.” The Chief Minister made it clear that his government would not allow any inefficiencies or corrupt practices to continue.
Addressing the district collectors, Majhi urged them to remain vigilant and investigate any irregularities that may come to their attention. “We will not tolerate corruption at any level. This is as clear a message as possible from me,” he asserted.
The Chief Minister’s comments signal a strong push for transparency and accountability in governance, with a particular focus on improving the lives of marginalized communities. By urging district collectors to play an active role in identifying and rectifying irregularities, Majhi aims to ensure that public resources are used efficiently and for the benefit of those who need them the most.
The conference, which will continue through the weekend, is expected to focus on a wide range of issues, including the implementation of welfare schemes, improving infrastructure in rural areas, and addressing long-standing grievances of marginalized communities across Odisha.
