Mohan Charan Majhi, the chief minister of Odisha, urged the media to offer fair and constructive criticism without fear or bias. The Chief Minister said this at the 8th Sambad Corporate Excellence Awards-2025, which were held at the state capital’s Hotel May Fair.This time, Majhi has asked for the help of people from all walks of life in the massive transformational process that has started to create a thriving Odisha.
The Chief Minister continued: “It will help the government to bring the problems and issues of the people to the notice of the government and solve them. But the fine line between newspaper distribution and editorial malpractices also needs to be respected. He said that the basic mantra of journalists should be’ Let Truth Prevail’.”
The Chief Minister said he is confident that Odisha would completely realize its vision of prosperity by 2036 and its goal of becoming a growth engine for a developed India by 2047. Odisha has garnered both domestic and international notice in recent months due to its successful staging of a number of high-profile events. Through ties with the Odia diaspora, the state has been able to demonstrate its distinctive cultural history on a global scale. The Utkarsha Odisha – Made in Odisha Conclave – 2025 has notably broken past trade and industry records, opening up a plethora of options for the state. Therefore, with the cooperation and participation of all societal segments, the project to create a new Odisha will succeed.
According to the Chief Minister, media outlets are now acting as change agents in addition to disseminating news. Through several conclaves, they are openly debating a wide range of issues and raising awareness at different societal levels. This is a very admirable endeavor, he said. The Chief Minister praised the newspaper’s Corporate Excellence Award program, saying that it makes doing business in Odisha easier. According to him, these kinds of programs have been crucial in promoting Odia identity.
